The World Overview, accessible by selecting the Orientation Minimap button in the Top Field (see Chapter 4.3.1) is the highest level element of the world map, composed of a number of strategically important territories roughly the size of continents, called 'Theaters'. Theaters are not only important for their geographical setting but are one of the primary means of gaining Victory Points. Depending on your faction's total influence in each theater (amount of influence relative to the max), you will gain the following reward at the end of each timeline:
For a full overview, the Timeline End Rewards are seen in the top left part of the World Overview. |
There are 10 theaters in the game divided by thick fully drawn borders and 1 special theater (each selectable in World Overview for quick access):
Home Theaters are exceptional as they start with high amounts of factional influence. |
Home Theaters[ | ]
North America and Eastern Europe are 'Home Theater' for the opposing factions (USA and USSR). They both start the game nearly completely dominated by the respective faction. | |
Home theaters are also where factions' 'logistical capital' regions are based. This means that when deploying a unit, the cost to do so is calculated tracing a logistical ideal line from the 'logistical capital' regions inside the home theaters to the regions in which the unit is deployed. The 'logistical capital' regions are the Eastern United States and Central Russia (containing respectively Washington D.C. and Moscow). These 'logistical capital' regions are marked with a '*' on the map. |
Arctic[ | ]
The Arctic theater is a special theater containing a single region, that unlike others can house both friendly and enemy forces at the same time without combat but that can only be accessed by submarines. This theater also lacks influence and cannot be controlled or dominated. |
